SAN FRANCISCO — A committee charged with scrutinizing the Administrative Office of the Courts is polling AOC workers on the jobs they perform, as well as a wide swath of judges and clerks on what the AOC does for them.

Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye convened the Strategic Evaluation Committee in March in response to criticism that the AOC is a bloated bureaucracy. The committee sent surveys today to about 3,500 AOC employees, presiding judges and clerks around the state.
