SACRAMENTO — Two state lawmakers today called on Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye to fire William Vickrey, the chief executive of the Administrative Office of the Courts, in light of a recent auditor’s report that cited poor management and skyrocketing costs in the development of the California Court Case Management System.

In a letter to the chief justice, Democratic Assembly members Ricardo Lara and Bonnie Lowenthal accuse Vickrey of ignoring repeated warnings that the project — now expected to cost more than $1.9 billion, according to the auditor — was not meeting cost or performance benchmarks.
