SACRAMENTO — Who says the governor’s race is the most exciting contest in California?

Jackie Speier certainly shifted the electoral spotlight last week when the Peninsula congresswoman let it be known, rather coyly, that she may jump into the Democratic primary for attorney general. Her communications director had no comment. But friends of the former Hanson Bridgett attorney say she’s not exactly loving Congress. And when cornered by a reporter in her district last Thursday, Speier admitted that she’s weighing her political options.
