SAN FRANCISCO — The UC Regents finance committee voted Wednesday to hike professional degree fees at four University of California law schools for the coming academic year, by 9.8 to 22.2 percent for California residents and by lesser amounts for nonresidents. Additional, though often smaller, increases would be added the following two academic years.

Taking other fees into account as well, that would put Berkeley and Davis on track to cost residents slightly more than $50,000 and nonresidents more than $57,000 in total fees by 2012-13.
