A lengthy legal battle to determine who owned the controlling stake in a fertilizer and chemical manufacturer inched closer to resolution this week after the Delaware Court of Chancery denied the defendants' motion for summary judgment that a 2004 transfer of stock was valid under the doctrine of issue preclusion. The Chancery Court held the issues raised by the defendants were resolved in two 2010 opinions and by the Delaware Supreme Court upon appeal.
