A Finnish record company's claim that pop star Nelly Furtado and producer Timbaland plagiarized its music has been thrown out by a Miami federal magistrate judge. The case centered on whether the music in question was originally published on the Internet -- and therefore considered U.S.-created under U.S. copyright law -- or first published in Europe.
