Robert O. Link Jr., who led Cadwalader to record profits for more than a decade until the structured finance sector stalled in mid-2007, quietly retired July 1. Link, the firm's former chairman and managing partner, left after being replaced as chairman in 2008 and after being left off of the firm's management committee. The firm issued no departure announcement. "As for putting out a press release, Bob felt he had gotten enough publicity," a spokesman said. "Which is typical of Bob and his commitment to the firm."
