GlaxoSmithKline has agreed to settle for confidential amounts almost 200 cases in which plaintiffs allege that the use of the antidepressant Paxil caused birth defects. One particular case that GSK has agreed to settle -- Kilker v. SmithKline Beecham Corp. d/b/a GlaxoSmithKline -- was viewed by the plaintiffs mass torts bar as a leading indicator of the strength of more than 600 similar cases.
