While attorneys team up to sign plaintiffs for BP oil spill litigation, key defendants have lined up three prominent Florida law firms to defend against spill cases in Florida. BP is going with Akerman Senterfitt; Cameron International, manufacturer of the failed blowout preventer, has chosen Greenberg Traurig; and Halliburton Energy Services has hired Broad and Cassel. Akerman Chairman Andrew Smulian declined to reveal terms of the contract, but a source said the contract could be a "year-maker" for the firm.
