O'Melveny & Myers partner Daniel Petrocelli has represented Jeff Skilling since February 2004. But until Tuesday, Petrocelli had little good news for his now-imprisoned client. The Supreme Court agreed to hear Skilling's appeal, handing the former Enron CEO his "first breakthrough in eight years of misery," Petrocelli said in an interview. Petrocelli thinks the Court granted Skilling's case in part because of the justices' interest in the issue of juror prejudice caused by pretrial publicity and local passions.
