Nearly four months after laying off 10 lawyers, Chicago's Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon has taken the job-cutting ax to another 10 associates.

Officials at the Midwest firm of more than 200 attorneys confirmed on Wednesday that it laid off 10 associates late last week, along with seven secretarial staff.

"Due to the continuing effects of the economic downturn, we have taken proactive measures to align our workforce with our current and anticipated client and business demands. Last week, we reduced our associate ranks by 10 and our secretarial staff by 7. The individuals affected by these reductions are all high quality employees and professionals who have made valuable contributions to our firm," officials at Wildman Harrold said in a statement released to The National Law Journal. "Wildman Harrold remains strong financially, and these staffing adjustments will help ensure our firm's continued health and success in this economic climate, and focus our capacities to best service the current needs of our client base."

The last round of layoffs at Wildman Harrold happened in January, when five income partners and five associates were let go.
