Large law firms have made progress on diversity issues in recent years, but they need to go farther to ensure that minority, female and homosexual attorneys have the same career opportunities as their white male colleagues. That's the conclusion reached in the Minority Corporate Council Association's new study, based on questionnaires completed by over 4,000 attorneys at 124 large firms. The study found that one serious challenge to improving diversity was overcoming the so-called "myth of meritocracy."
