You can probably thank U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie of New Jersey for the latest addition to the Justice Department's policy manual. The change will end deals like the deferred prosecution agreement that Christie reached with Bristol-Myers Squibb in which the drug company agreed, among other things, to establish a business ethics chair at Christie's alma mater. Christie says the company came up with the endowment idea.
