A New York court has ruled that noted litigator Stanley S. Arkin is entitled to a "success fee" for representing ex-Citigroup investment management chief Thomas W. Jones. Fired after a scandal which banned Citigroup from the Japanese private banking market, Jones hired Arkin to pursue a suit against Citigroup. The panel found that Arkin's retainer agreement "plainly refers to entitlements that will actually 'vest' ... not to entitlements that would have vested had Jones' employment not been terminated."
