Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno joined the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System before the Right to Know Act existed, so his salary information shouldn't be subject to the law, a Penn State attorney argued Monday before the state Supreme Court. That was one strategy the university employed in its effort to have overturned a ruling that the Right to Know Act requires the release of faculty salary information the system has even though the university itself is not bound by the law.
