Few would disagree that prison life is a profoundly dehumanizing experience. But for some white-collar defendants, it will be a reality. With that in mind, attorney JaneAnne Murray describes some ways -- before, during and after sentencing -- in which attorneys can ease a client's passage through federal prison. Murray writes that surprisingly minimal effort can substantially improve a defendant's experience of prison life -- from securing a coveted lower-bunk pass to entering a program for early release.
