A California appeals court has set aside a $34.2 million judgment that favored the Oakland Raiders, ruling that the football team and president Al Davis gave up their right to sue for fraud when they reworked a lease agreement with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The city of Oakland, Alameda County and the Coliseum had sued the Raiders over threats to rescind the lease and leave town. In a countersuit, the Raiders argued they were duped into signing a lease, claiming as much as $1 billion in damages.
