In dire need of an attorney general beyond ethical reproach, New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine has named his chief counsel, Stuart Rabner, a career federal prosecutor with a knockout resume and a track record of handling complex criminal cases. Current Attorney General Zulima Farber is scheduled to step down Thursday amid an ethics scandal during which Farber intervened in a traffic stop involving her live-in companion. Unlike Farber, Rabner is considered to be without the taint of controversy.
