Backing away from its declaration to keep first-year associate pay at $105,000 in its Florida offices, Holland & Knight announced Tuesday that it's bumping salaries there to $120,000. The move raises the ante for other major south Florida corporate law firms, which are paying $115,000 at most for entry-level associates. Only White & Case in Miami is known to be paying first-years $120,000. Holland & Knight partner Adolfo Jimenez cites competition and local living costs as reasons for the pay hike.
