The finance arm of personal computer maker Dell violated federal anti-discrimination laws by denying loans to Hispanics who don't speak English, according to a class action filed in federal court in Miami. Says Thomas K. Equels, who filed the suit last week on behalf of a would-be Dell customer, "If they're doing this to him -- a highly educated, sophisticated businessman -- what's happening to other Hispanics who don't know this violates the law and just accept it and walk away?"
