Six months after Hurricane Rita blasted the Gulf Coast and surged across parts of Texas and Louisiana, several plaintiffs lawyers in Beaumont, Texas -- one of the communities hit hard by the storm -- say Rita has blown a substantial amount of business their way. Plaintiffs have filed about four times as many insurance suits in Jefferson County this year as they did in the first three months of 2005. And several lawyers predict more Rita-related suits to come.
