Holland & Knight plans to lay off 41 attorneys and 45 staff as it closes nine offices and consolidates smaller offices with its hubs in Washington, D.C., Chicago and its Tampa, Fla., home base. The law firm has also decided to shut down four offices next year, in Providence, R.I., Seattle, San Antonio and Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. That will affect a total of 63 attorneys. Of the lawyers in the shuttered offices, only those in Providence will be offered the opportunity to work elsewhere in the firm.
