It's not often a phrase like "litigate by day and copulate by night" appears in 11th Circuit decisions. But in a dissenting opinion, that's how Senior Judge James C. Hill described a Florida couple who were living together but wanted the man to get the insurance benefits reserved for someone who wasn't a member of the woman's household. Said one of the couple's lawyers: "I think he's just one of these judges who thinks there should be mommies and daddies in a household, and that's how the world should be."
