In one of the most high-profile prosecutions since 9/11, New York lawyer Lynne Stewart was found guilty Thursday of helping the Islamic Group communicate with her client, Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, who is serving a life sentence for conspiracy against the United States. Stewart said she was "shook up, surprised and disappointed" by her conviction of providing material support to a terrorist group. She also expressed the hope that her appeal would prove that "you can't tell ... lawyers how to do their job."
