What's the big legal attraction in Marshall, Texas, a town whose claim to fame is an annual fire ant festival? The judges, say lawyers. Specifically, District Judge T. John Ward, who has helped create a "rocket docket" for patent cases. Patent lawyers have flocked to Marshall for its speedy court process and IP-enthusiastic judges and juries. But Marshall's docket is getting heavier and slower, and it may be just a matter of time before lawyers start searching for another venue.
