Georgia Justices Uphold Al-Amin Murder Verdict

Rejecting more than a dozen claims for reversal, Georgia's Supreme Court on Monday affirmed Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin's convictions for the murder of a deputy sheriff and the wounding of another. The closest chance for the former Black Panther came from the court's agreement that a prosecutor violated his right to remain silent by posing questions to him during closing arguments. But the court found a Superior Court judge cured the violation with her juror instructions.
