Georgia County Faces Latest Class Action Over Jail Procedures

Delays in releasing inmates from a Georgia jail and strip-searching of arrestees and prisoners have prompted a federal class action that could leave taxpayers paying millions in settlements and legal fees. Similar classes in Los Angeles County resulted in a $27 million settlement; two such suits are pending in Washington, D.C. Atlanta attorneys Charles B. Pekor Jr. and Daniel E. DeWoskin of Pekor & DeWoskin are local counsel for the suit.
