Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has opened a Seoul office.
The firm has relocated partner H. Young Shin, head of the its Korea practice, to Seoul from New York to lead the new office.
Shin advises on mergers and acquisitions, energy and real estate investments, and project finance deals. His clients have included Korean conglomerates Doosan Group and Hanwha Group, as well as sovereign wealth fund Korea Investment Corp.
This is Skadden’s seventh office in the Asia Pacific region. The New York–based firm joins a group of about 20 international firms who have so far opened offices in Korea since the country’s free trade agreements with the European Union and the United States came into effect in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Skadden has about 1,800 lawyers in 23 offices worldwide.*
