Greenberg Traurig is representing Grupo Bio Pappel, Mexico’s largest paper producer, which has agreed to buy Corporacion Scribe SAPI de CV, a leading manufacturer and seller of paper and notebooks in Mexico.
The terms of the deal announced Aug. 25 were not disclosed. Closing is scheduled for November.
GBP products include bond paper, newsprint, brown paper, corrugated cardboard packaging, paper sacks and cut paper for copies, printing, notebooks, books and forms. Scribe is best known for the manufacturing and distribution of bond paper as well as consumer writing and printing products.
The Greenberg Traurig team was led by Emilio J. Alvarez-Farre, a shareholder in the Latin American and Iberian practice group and the Miami corporate and securities practice. Alvarez-Farre was assisted by Juan Delgado, a Miami associate, and attorneys in the firm’s Mexico City office.
Alvarez-Farre and Delgado joined Greenberg in June from White & Case. They focus their practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and transaction financing.
