Iesha Crespo (Iesha Crespo)
Miami pinup model Iesha Marie Crespo is in court trying to find out who hacked her iPhone and her Instagram and Facebook accounts to post her personal photos, including full frontal nudity.
The Miami federal lawsuit filed Thursday claims the hacked accounts were altered by adding salacious words. The complaint listing John Doe as the defendant said her phone has been missing since Jan. 12.
“This incredible violation of Iesha’s privacy is causing extreme stress in her life,” said Crespo’s attorney, Darren Heitner, a partner at Wolfe Law Miami.
“Iesha can’t sleep, can’t concentrate,” he said. “Her very personal information and privacy have been violated, and we intend to get to the bottom of this to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.”
Heitner said the next step in court is to file a discovery motion and serve subpoenas on Facebook Inc. and her email providers to discover the Internet service provider addresses of the hackers. He said Crespo received taunting emails after her accounts were hacked.
The Instagram account of the 23-year-old music video and magazine model at one point had more than 300,000 “followers.” The hackers changed its name to “exposing Iesha Marie” and added the line “Miami’s biggest hoe” to a nude shot.
The hackers also accessed and published Crepso’s passport information and private text messages from her iPhone indicating drug use and a sexual relationship with rapper Trey Songz.
The lawsuit alleges violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the Stored Wire and Electronic Communications Act, invasion of privacy, infliction of emotional distress, copyright infringement and libel.
Heitner said his client has appeared in at least 15 music videos, including one for the artist Drake, and traveled to Los Angeles to attend the Grammys. He said her career already has been impacted by the breach.
“She is truly experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety and has felt so embarrassed she has forfeited going out for different opportunities,” he said. “It’s also been a topic of conservation among others who are interested in hiring her for others jobs.”
