Carlton Fields and Jorden Burt have agreed to merge the two Florida law firms to create a 370-lawyer firm named Carlton Fields Jorden Burt.
The merger will be completed next year, the firms stated. The combined firm will have 10 offices in Florida, Atlanta, New York, Washington and Hartford, Connecticut.
“The fit between our law firms is natural and powerful,” said Carlton Fields CEO Gary Sasso, who will serve as CEO of the combined firm.
“Both firms have strong national practices in class action defense and high-stakes litigation,” he said in a statement. “We see an opportunity to match strength with strength, putting together highly capable professionals who like and respect each other.”
Carlton is based in Tampa and has about 300 lawyers. Jorden is based in Miami and has 70 lawyers.
