It’s been a busy winter for mergers and reorganizations involving law firms in Connecticut. Among the biggest movers and shakers is the national firm of Wilson Elser, which has nearly 800 attorneys in 25 offices in the United States and the U.K.

In February, the firm opened a Hartford office in February to go along with a Stamford office that’s a decade old. Now the firm, best known for its insurance litigation work, has named a deputy regional managing partner for the state to focus on the Hartford office, which includes a “burgeoning” governmental affairs practice.
