The new GC previously held positions with gaming outfits Delaware Park Racetrack and Slots and the Casino at Ocean Downs, located in Maryland.
Vild’s previous legal work outside the gambling industry includes positions with the Delaware Department of Insurance and the Bayard Firm, a Wilmington, Delaware-based firm specializing in commercial bankruptcy, corporate litigation, securitization, and structured finance.
Saratoga’s casino and storied raceway, also known as the Racino, features gaming machines, horse racing, and live music. The upstate New York-based attraction has generated more than $600 million for New York education since it began operating in 2004.
Vild is responsible for handling all of the Racino’s legal matters, as well as all human resource issues concerning its 600 employees. He has also been handed the reins to legal an HR matters for resort affiliates, including Colorado’s Saratoga Casino Black Hawk.
Right out of the gate, Vild is sure to have hands full in the new position. Saratoga Casino and Raceway recently announced plans to undergo a $30 million expansion—including the construction of a 120-room hotel and a 24,000-square-foot event center. The company anticipates the development project will ultimately create more than 400 local jobs.
Vild earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1991, and received a bachelor’s degree in music from Ohio State University in 1988.
