ACC Guide to European Outside Counsel Value
The state of the modern business deal is such that corporate counsel are often required to interact with legal entities in one or more international jurisdictions. Because in-house attorneys may not know how best to control costs overseas, the Association of Corporate Counsel announced Thursday that it released a new digital resource, Guide to the ACC Value Challenge in Europe.
Subtitled, How to Get Better Value from External and Internal Resources, the ACC says that the online guide, provides general counsel with tools for operating their law departments and managing costs in a global business environment, and highlights methods for optimizing legal resources within and outside the organization.
The guide is an international offshoot of the in-house counsel trade associations ongoing ACC Value Challenge, which seeks to better align the services outside counsel provide with what they charge for those services. In a statement accompanying the Europe guide, ACC President and CEO Veta Richardson said that the guide provides general counsel with tools for operating their law departments and managing costs in a global business environment, and highlights methods for optimizing legal resources within and outside the organization.
The Value Challenge guide is a digital document that includes more than 75 pages of material and resources, and is divided into two main sections: Information to help in-house counsel lay a foundation for a value-driven approach in the European market, and specific methods for managing the costs of outside counsel in the region.
