Former Sidley Austin Partner Departs for General Electric In-House Position
Sidley Austin partner Bradford Berenson has left the firm to take an in-house counsel position with General Electric Co.
Berenson departs the firm's Washington officeto take on the role of vice president and senior counsel for litigationand legal policy. Berenson, who starts with GE today, announced his departurevia email.
A former White House associate counsel under George W.Bush, Berenson worked on judicial selection, executive privilege andresponses to congressional oversight within the White House. He also helped draft the USA Patriot Act and with the government restructuring that created theDepartment of Homeland Security.
