OcÚ Brings Home EDD Processing With dataDeliver
Law Technology News
Océ Business Services, a Canon Group company and a managed business process services and electronic discovery provider, announced Monday a new service that provides legal organizations with e-discovery software deployed onsite as a managed service, which aims to improve efficiency and client service, as well as reduce costs and risks.
Océ's dataDeliver e-discovery service is performed onsite at an Océ document service center. With an onsite service, Océ looks forward to reducing the risk that data may fall into the wrong hands -- client e-discovery data never leaves the firm network. In addition, law firms and corporate legal departments can better scope and plan Océ's e-discovery services to work with their own e-discovery best practices.
Océ's onsite services begin when electronic media are attached to an Océ onsite server. The event triggers an online work order that prompts Océ experts to log into the system and remotely process the electronic evidence using dataDelivery. Once processed, the data is searchable in native and TIFF file formats, which can be loaded into one of several document review platforms and made available for analysis, review, and production.
In addition to reducing risk, Océ's e-discovery processing system offers cost containment. With dataDeliver, clients pay a set monthly fee for unlimited data processing with no per gigabyte fees. The monthly fee makes e-discovery processing more predictable and manageable and eliminates the need for litigation staff to spend time calculating per-gigabyte fees and reduces turnaround times from various vendors.
