This is especially true when I talk about the number of former Hooters Girls employed in successful careers, including in our corporate office. Past generations of women clearly did not have as many choices as we do today. In my grandmother's and even my mother's generation, women who worked were schoolteachers, secretaries or nurses. Today's women are not limited in any way. They see the opportunity to work at Hooters as first steps in the rest of their careers.
Most of our Hooters Girls are in college and are working toward various degrees. Hooters Girls make great money so it is a wonderful way to help pay for school.
Additionally, Hooters of America provides tuition reimbursement for all of its Hooters Girls, and the amount varies depending upon the grades the girls achieve.
Any stigma associated with being a Hooters Girl is really very dated. Young women today see working at Hooters as a smart way to begin their careers. As a matter of fact, the other attorney on my staff worked her way through undergraduate and law school while working at Hooters.
