Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) is blowing the whistle on potential violations of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act, according to Mary Jane Wilmoth on the Whistleblowers’ Protection Blog. Grassley is contending that the Federal Bureau of Investigation may be in violation of the antigag sections of the act.

In 2012, Wilmoth explains, Grassley drafted the antigag provision to codify the fact that nondisclosure policies cannot “supersede the right of federal employees to contact Congress” and the forms signed by employees must include certain statements to that effect. However, in a letter sent to U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Feb. 10 of this year, Grassley outlines how the DOJ is not complying with the provisions.
