As glitches continued to plague Healthcare.gov, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough on Tuesday said the Affordable Care Act already has helped the U.S. economy and the Obama administration is committed to Obamacare’s ongoing implementation.

Speaking at a public policy forum at Arent Fox in Washington, D.C., McDonough said he and his administration colleagues are at fault for the Oct. 1 launch of the health care enrollment website that didn’t function correctly, and they are working to improve it each day. But Obamacare, which is intended to rein in health care costs and improve the quality of the U.S. health care system, is “much more than a website,” he said.
