Wal-Mart Stores Inc. promoted KAREN ROBERTS to vice president and general counsel.

RICARDO ANZALDUA has joined MetLife Inc. as GC, replacing NICHOLAS LATRENTA, who retired.

Lloyds Banking Group plc hired ANDREW WHITTAKER as its new general counsel.

JAMES CHOSY has been lured back to U.S. Bancorp from Piper Jaffray Companies. This time around, he becomes GC of the company, replacing LEE MITAU, who is retiring at the beginning of March.

Sherwin-Williams Company named CATHERINE KILBANE senior vice president, secretary, and GC. The former American Greetings Corporation GC replaces Lou stellato, who is retiring.

MARK SHAW was promoted to VP and GC of Southwest Airlines Co.; he replaces MADELEINE JOHNSON, who retired in February.

The University of Rochester has hired GAIL NORRIS to be its new VP and GC, replacing SUE STEWART, who is retiring.

PAUL IGOE is the new GC of SS&C Technologies Inc., replacing STEPHEN ­WHITMAN.

Rowan University has hired STEVEN WEINSTEIN as its new general counsel and vice president.

REBECCA SANDBERG was named GC of Two Harbors Investment Corp. She replaces TIMOTHY O'BRIEN, who remains GC of Pine River Capital Management Limited Partnership, the parent corporation of the company's external manager. O'Brien also becomes GC of newly created Silver Bay Realty Trust Corp,, which is managed by Pine River.
