RICH BAER, the former chief legal officer of UnitedHealth Group, has jumped to Liberty Interactive Corporation, where he is now general counsel, replacing CHARLES TANABE, who retired at the end of 2012.

The University of Michigan hired TIMOTHY LYNCH as its new vice president and GC; he replaces SUELLYN SCARNECCHIA, who resigned in March 2012 and took a faculty position in the university's law school.

CAREY O'CONNOR, vice ­president and corporate secretary of Flowserve Corporation, will take on the additional title of general counsel upon the retirement of Ron shuff in the first half of 2013.Xylem Inc. hired CHRISTIAN  NA as its SVP, GC, and corporate secretary, replacing FRANK JIMENEZ, who moved to Bunge Limited at the end of May 2012.

JONATHAN SCHWARTZ has been named general counsel of Univision Communications Inc., replacing C. DOUGLAS KRANWINKLE, who retired.

Asian Development Bank picked CHRISTOPHER STEPHENS, senior partner with Orrick, Herrington & Sut­cliffe, to be its new GC.

ALLEN KATZ joined Transocean Ltd. as interim SVP and GC through the middle of 2013 with an option to remain in the job through year-end.

CPA Global picked RUTH DANIELS, former legal vice president of Ancestry.com, to be its first-ever general counsel.

stephanie tsacoumis is the new GC of the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission.

Legends Hospitality Management LLC named JOHN RUZICH SVP and GC.

ALLAN ADLER was promoted to GC and VP for government affairs at the Association of American Publishers.

VINCENT O'ROURKE has slipped into the GC pew at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
