As tempted as you might be to immediately fire an employee who has been badmouthing you or your company on Facebook, it might pay to pause.
Attorneys at Fisher & Phillips have some advice for employers who find themselves in this situation, taking lessons from a recent Oregon case. Child-protective-services caseworker Jennifer Shepard was dismissed by Oregon’s Department of Human Services (DHS) for ranting on her Facebook page about people abusing the welfare system and continuing to have children while living on public assistance.
