Skadden and Wachtell Face Off as Martin Marietta Goes Hostile with $4.7 Billion Bid for Rival Vulcan

UPDATE: 12/13/11, 12:15 p.m. EST. Wachtell litigation partner William Savitt is representing Vulcan in connection with the lawsuit filed by Martin Marietta on Monday.

In a move aimed at creating a new construction-materials industry leader, Martin Marietta Materials said Monday that it is has launched a $4.7 billion hostile bid to buy Vulcan Materials, a larger competitor.
