Chinese firm Fangda & Partners has added a partner to its Hong Kong office.

Andrew Lui was previously a partner in Hong Kong with Edwards Wildman Palmer. A corporate lawyer, he specializes in capital markets and also advises private equity firms on cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Lui joined the former Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge in 2010. Before that, he was the managing partner of Andrew Lui & Co., an associate firm of the former Salans. From 2005 to 2009, he was head of the corporate finance practice in the Hong Kong office of Pinsent Masons Hong Kong. Earlier in his career, Lui also worked at DLA Piper and the former Denton Wilde Sapte.

Fangda opened its Hong Kong office in April 2012 after hiring former Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Peter Yuen. The 200-lawyer also has offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.
