U.K. firm Stephenson Harwood has hired a partner in Hong Kong.
Giovanna Kwong joins from the Hong Kong office of newly merged King & Wood Mallesons and SJ Berwin, where she was a litigation partner.
Kwong advises clients in the financial, pharmaceutical, construction and public sectors on disputes-related matters. She also works as an arbitrator at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center, and is an accredited mediator in the city as well.
Kwong joined SJ Berwin as a consultant when the London-based firm first launched its Hong Kong office in 2009 and stayed on for the merger with King & Wood Mallesons, which was official last month. Prior to that, she spent two years as a consultant at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, also in Hong Kong.
Stephenson Harwood has over 50 lawyers working in four Greater China offices, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The firm has 420 lawyers in nine offices worldwide.
