Former Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe Asia managing partner Michelle Taylor has resigned from the firm to join Jones Day as partner in Hong Kong.

Taylor specializes in structured finance deals. In March, she advised Standard Chartered Bank, Citigroup, and Nomura as underwriters on a $500 million issue of covered bonds by Korea Housing Finance Corporation.
Appointed Orrick's Asia head in 2010, Taylor stepped down from the role earlier this year and was succeeded by Beijing- and Silicon Valley-based intellectual property partner Xiang Wang. She joined Orrick as partner in 2006 from Paul Hastings, where she was also partner. Prior to joining Paul Hastings in 2003, she was of counsel at Sidley Austin.
Taylor first moved to Hong Kong in 1998 with Sidley Austin. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant solicitor in London with Clifford Chance.
With Taylor, Jones Day will have around 42 lawyers in its Hong Kong office, including 18 partners. Jones Day has more than 2,400 lawyers globally.
