Correction, 6/13/13, 3 p.m. EDT: The original version of this article incorrectly reported when Yan Zhang joined Haynes & Boone. He joined the firm in October 2012. The fourth paragraph of the article has been revised to incorporate the correct information. We regret the error.
Haynes and Boone has recruited a partner to head its planned Shanghai office.

Liza Mark is joining the Dallas-based firm from the Hong Kong office of Dorsey & Whitney, where she was also a partner.

Haynes & Boone announced its plans to open its first Asian office in Shanghai earlier this month. It has received regulatory approval for a launch but no date has been set for an official launch.

Mark will manage the Shanghai office and co-lead Haynes and Boone’s China practice with partner Yan Zhang, who joined the firm last October and is dividing his time between Shanghai and Silicon Valley.

She represents Chinese and international companies, including private equity firms and financial institutions, on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets deals.

She began her legal career with Dorsey & Whitney, leaving in 2005 to join Morrison & Foerster as associate. She returned to Dorsey as partner in 2007.

Haynes and Boone has around 525 lawyers globally. It has ten U.S. offices as well as an office in Mexico City and one through an affiliate firm in Rio de Janeiro.
