Morrison & Foerster has hired a funds partner in Hong Kong.

Former Debevoise & Plimpton associate Serena Tan has joined the firm’s corporate practice. She advises funds formation, structuring and investment transactions. Last year, she represented Hony Capital on a $430 million investment round in workplace provider WeWork Companies.

Tan had been with Debevoise for five and a half years, having joined in 2011 from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, where she practiced for two years.

Morrison & Foerster is the latest of several firms that have recently made private funds hires in Hong Kong. In April, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher hired a four-partner private equity team from Ropes & Gray. Before that, former Ropes & Gray partner Geoffrey Chan also left to launch an Asian private funds practice for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. In January, Mayer Brown JSM also added former Deacons partner Robert Woll to its private equity practice.

At MoFo, Tan will work closely with Hong Kong-based funds partner Jason Nelms , who joined the firm in 2015 from Proskauer Rose.
