Singapore’s RHTLaw Taylor Wessing has hired a new head of dispute resolution to succeed late senior partner Subhas Anandan, one of the country’s most prominent criminal defense lawyers, who died in January 2015.

Roderick Martin joins as a senior partner from his own practice Martin & Partners, where he mainly handles civil and commercial litigation, especially matters involving construction, shipping and conveyancing. Martin was appointed Senior Counsel in 2011.

Prior to founding his own practice in 1993, he was a partner with Singaporean firm Ramdas & Wong for six years.

Before his passing, Anandan had led RHTLaw’s disputes practice since cofounding the firm with a group of former KhattarWong partners in 2011. Anandan died of heart failure at age of 67 in January 2015.

In his new role, Martin will work alongside his deputy, partner Nandakumar Renganathan, and an additional eight disputes partners.

The Singapore associate firm of Anglo-German firm Taylor Wessing has 79 lawyers, including 29 partners.
