Google has faced some criticism over how “private” its services are, but the company has one fewer privacy lawsuit it now has to worry about following a California judge’s decision.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal, of the Northern District of California, announced on July 15 that he had thrown out a proposed lawsuit that claimed Google violated users’ privacy. The lawsuit had claimed that Google was disclosing the plaintiffs’ names, email addresses and account locations to third parties without their permission.
